Rural Weavers Documentary Uruguay

In early 2020, I traveled to Cerro Chato and Treinta y Tres, Uruguay, to document two groups of rural weavers, commissioned as part of an initiative supporting women's work in rural communities. I photographed their craft, hands at the wheel and the loom, wool becoming thread, thread becoming cushions, rugs, and woven pieces, alongside the finished collections. It was a project about care taken slowly: the quiet, manual labor behind each object, and the value of tradition made visible. Project Manager Caro Curbelo Assistant Stefan Hoeferlin
